Last year , 188,329 deer were checked during the 2015-2016 season . In Coshocton County , 5,929 deer were harvested in 2016 compared to 5,700 in 2015 . Hunting has a more than $ 853 million economic impact in Ohio through the sale of equipment , fuel , food , lodging and more , according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation ’ s Hunting in America : An Economic Force for Conservation publication .
