Youth leadership members share research
Coshocton County Youth Leadership was at the Kirk Street Event Center in West Lafayette on Jan . 29 . Here we were accompanied by Becky Jacobs with WTNS to record advertisements for the radio to get incoming sophomores interested in joining the program .
Next we discussed the book “ Who Moved My Cheese for Teens ,” which we were assigned to read at our previous program day . This book discussed what makes you happy and how change can affect
your happiness . We then exchanged our views of change and our thoughts on why people are scared of it . This was followed by taking the character cheese test , which revealed which character of the book we related to most by the decisions we typically make in our everyday lives .
Joel Carr helped lead us through this session and said , “ Change may be upsetting , but it can be really good for you .” Further into the discussion , we discovered we should not be afraid of change just because we liked how things were before because change can always lead to something better .
Following this , we had lunch provided by Schumaker Farms . After lunch every student gave a presentation based on a leader they decided to research . These leaders included presidents ,
Olympic athletes , historic figures and more . This research project taught us how different people lead , the impacts they made on those around them and their different leadership styles .
