The River View School District recognized a 30-year employee , Steve Foster , with the CORAS Hero Award . Foster , left , is pictured with superintendent Dalton Summers .
assume Foster works 15 hours a day . He takes pride in his work and never complains when asked to help in other capacities during emergencies or unforeseen circumstances .
“ Steve is responsible for all grounds work on our main
campus , essentially by himself ,” superintendent Dalton Summers said . “ I am often asked , ‘ What are Steve ’ s hours ?’ This is because you will see him mowing a football field at 8 p . m . or helping clear the parking lots at 6 a . m . He may be driving a bus route in the morning and afternoon and painting a bus panel at 4 p . m . ( all in the same day ).
“ His work ethic is based on the idea that you do what needs done , when it needs done , and you quit when the jobs are finished . You help when help is needed , and you take pride in whatever you do . As an institution established to teach kids success skills , we can consider Steve one of our greatest educators by the way he instructs through the example he sets for all to see . I believe Steve Foster represents a ‘ daily hero ’ to the River View community .”
“ In addition to everything already mentioned about Steve , he also is a dedicated husband to his wife Karen and a role model to his children , Abby and Kaden . He balances his dedication with his work , the same as his family duties . His faith is strong , and he goes about his daily life accordingly . We are fortunate to have such an employee here at River View ,” said Joel Moore , director of transportation and operations .

Our mother had mischief in her eyes and a smile that not only brightened a room , it also warmed our hearts . Lord , there will never be a better friend than a mother and her love toward her children . We will forever remember both . Not only being a friend , but the mother who gave her all . We will always be proud to call you our mother and friend .
Sadly missed by your three kids Barb , Freddie and Ray
