United Way of Coshocton is adding to its board roster by bringing on three new members .

Dana Markley is the health information manager for Coshocton Regional Medical Center and has been employed there since 2011 . She also is an adjunct instructor at Zane State .

Markley has been the hospital ’ s United Way campaign manager for several years and enjoys serving Coshocton in this way .

In her spare time Markley enjoys working at her own small business , Color Street Independent Stylist . She is a 2009 graduate from Ridgewood High School and resides in West Lafayette .

of Coshocton as the public works administrative assistant . She has inside knowledge of the

United Way of Coshocton , having served as the president of the former Conesville Recreation for several years . In her spare time she is a selfproclaimed food provider , ATM and taxi driver to her 13-year-old daughter . She and her husband have lived in Coshocton for about nine years .

Brooke Alverson has worked in the commissioner ’ s office as the safety coordinator for Coshocton County since July 2017 . She has been a public employee chairperson for several years and coordinated the first annual elected officials race last year as a successful fundraiser for the United Way . In her spare time she likes to mushroom hunt , ride bikes and hike all the trails Ohio has to offer . She and her husband Chad have two sons : Brennen , who is serving in the military and currently stationed in Virginia , and Blane , who is a junior at Ohio University .

The United Way board is a volunteer board working to understand and meet the needs of Coshocton through its partnerships with other nonprofits . It has been serving Coshocton County for more than 80 years .

Central Ohio Technical College will hold information sessions for anyone interested in becoming a peace officer in Ohio . COTC ’ s peace officer basic training is consistently in the toptwo open-enrollment academies for average score on the state certificate exam . The

next POBT academy will begin in May and run through October at COTC ’ s Newark campus . Classes are typically held Monday through Friday from 8 a . m . to 4:30 p . m . with occasional weekend classwork .

Attending an information session is mandatory for anyone interested in applying to the program . Virtual information sessions will be held on the following dates : Tuesday , March 2 at 2 p . m .; Wednesday , March 10 at 4 p . m .; and Thursday , March 25 at 10:30 a . m .

COTC ’ s peace officer basic training exceeds the requirements of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission and positions students to excel on the state certification exam . Since 2014 all COTC peace officer basic training graduates have passed the state certification exam — a six-year 100 % pass rate . Graduates also earn credits toward an associate degree in lawenforcement technology .

Students with demonstrated financial need , as well as students who are currently in or exiting foster care , who enroll in the peace officer basic training certificate program may be eligible for a short-term certificate grant . Each student may receive a one-time grant of up to $ 2,000 to assist with tuition and fees ( does not include the cost of books and supplies ).
