Coshocton Tractor Supply invites pets for photos , kids for crafts
The Coshocton Tractor Supply will spread holiday cheer this year with its Photos with Santa event on Saturday , Dec . 7 from noon to 3 p . m . Tractor Supply customers are invited to bring their children and pets to the store for photos with Santa and other holiday activities .
A local photographer will be on-site during the event taking holidaythemed photos . The first 25 customers to take their photo with Santa also will receive a free magnetic picture frame . Participating event partners include The Coshocton County Humane Society , which will be on-site from noon to 3 p . m .

In addition to photos with Santa , customers will have the opportunity to participate in a coloring contest and complete a craft .

the store will host a craft event where young customers can decorate a Christmas ornament with stickers and other colorful extras while supplies last . Once complete , each participant can take their free craft home to decorate their Christmas tree .
On Sunday , December 22 , 2024 , at Prairie Chapel Methodist Church , the Nobles will be sharing special music during the 10:30 A M worship service . A love offering will be taken . Please come and enjoy their wonderful program .

The newly completed Triple Locks Center opened its doors with " Forty Carats ." Officers of the Footlight Players attended the opening in their best ; with Bert Cushman , Sam Clow and Jim Gauerke each speaking ahead of the performance . The play and their new home marks 25 years for the players , who spent those years at the Little Theater located in the fairgrounds . " We can match any community theater in the United States . It ' s up and it ' s beautiful . Literally a dream come true . Even the grass seed we planted came up ," said Gauerke . The new theater is the result of a two-year effort of fundraising and hard work , although the desire for a new theater came five years ago under the late chairman Jay Shaw . Another major supporter of the effort , the Coshocton Foundation ' s Adolph Golden , also passed before the theater could be completed . George Rassman , Ed Sawyer , Bob Hafner , architect Jack Tribbie and contractors Hathaway , Hirsch and Wagner were thanked by Clow in his speech before the play .

Plainfield Grange celebrated its 100th year . Carl Cognion , current Grange master , served as master of ceremonies . In attendance were several former Grange masters including Jack Geese , Resse Hackenbracht , Lloyd Fowler and Garry Derr . State Grange master , Howard Caldwell , presented Kathleen Vinsel Bair with an award recognizing her 70 years with the Plainfield Grange .

Anna Nemeth will be the first woman to serve on the Coshocton County Fairboard in its 143-year history . " I ran last year and when I lost , I told them I would be back , and I came back and won . I learned a lot last year and I put that to use this year ," said Nemeth . Nemeth is the third woman to run since the fairboard was organized in 1850 as the Agricultural Society . Nemeth credits both her own farm work and her experiences with 4-H for her victory . Nemeth works at Farm and Fleet in addition to working with her husband Bob at their farm . Her husband also runs Nemeth Satellite . Together they have two children , David and Theresa .

Norman S . Davitt has announced he is retiring as Coshocton County ' s public defender . Davitt became Coshocton ' s first public defender in 1981 and has since been the sole person to fulfill the role . " We ' ve done exceedingly well with very little money that ' s due to the dedication of Norm Davitt and his willingness to go the extra mile ," said Coshocton County Public Defender Commission Chair Burl Stafford . Stafford also said while the commission will field several candidates , they are considering Terry Baxter , current assistant public defender for the past 11 years , for the position .

The River Front Lounge and Restaurant will host the first Coshocton County Safe Communities Holiday Happy Hour . " We want to promote the idea that parties and celebrations don ' t have to include alcohol to be fun ," said Christy Mosier , coordinator for the safe communities coalition . The event will see teams of local businesses compete to create the best mocktail , which will be judged by local government officials .
