TUESDAY , DEC . 29 , 1970 The Crusaders traveled from Sacred Heart Junior High all the way to Pittsburgh for Sunday game against St . Phillips . The Coshocton team walked away with 55-42 and their sixth of seven wins . Joel Secrest led the team with 19 points followed by Denny Meiser with 18 and Steve Gergley rounded the team ’ s top scorers with nine . TUESDAY , DEC . 30 , 1980 It was the first of a new holiday tradition Monday night . The RNRVC Girls Holiday Championship game was held , and both Ridgewood and River View advance to the finals . River View ’ s game was against the Trojans , whom they beat 52-46 . Caroline Mast led the Lady Bears with 16 and Nancy Beatty with 11 . Ridgewood won their match against Coshocton 41-37 and maintained their unbeaten record . Ridgewood was led by Deanna Foster with 12 points followed by Barb Arney with 11 and Denise Hill with 10 . CHS was led by Dee Greenwood and followed by Jeri NcNeely with 11 and Sue Eichele with seven . FRIDAY , DEC . 28 , 1990 River View has claimed win number six this season with their 65-62 win over Steubenville . The non-league game saw the teams take to the court here in Warsaw . Shawn Tisko led the team with 21 points followed by Jamie Rice ’ s 19 and Chad Crossley with 14 . WEDNESDAY , DEC . 27 , 2000 original article by Michael McCormick CHS wrestling team is getting a little extra help this year . 1995 state champ and 95 CHS graduate , Brian Baughman has come back to help his old coach and school . A wrestler since the seventh grade and 11 years , he wrestled in the 112 pound class when he won the state title in the weight class . After graduating he went to Ohio State and two years at Kent , where he went 20-5 and finished in the top 20 in the nation . “ I kept in touch with Coach Korns while I was working in Columbus . I was not happy at my job . I wanted to coach , and Coach Korns gave me the opportunity .” WEDNESDAY , JAN . 4 , 2010 A monument dedicated to coal miners lost in Coshocton County is currently being planned . Sam Bennett , whose father died in a mining accident in 1971 , is heading the drive to build the monument . With the help of the Genealogy Society , he has found 33 names , with the earliest being 1897 . “ My family came here in the early 1960s from the eastern part of Kentucky . A lot of people came up here for a better way of life ,” said Bennett . The memorial is being planned for the Chestnut Street side of the courthouse , and will consist of a marble monument , walking path and bronze statue . It is expected to cost $ 60,000 .

Ohio State Highway Patrol unveils new work-zone safety dashboard

In an effort to curb work-zone crashes and further empower the public , the Ohio State Highway Patrol has released a new dashboard devoted to work-zone safety . The work-zone dashboard is a detailed view of work zones across Ohio and the work troopers around the state are doing to make them safer .
The work-zone dashboard is a part of the Ohio Statistics and Analytics for Traffic Safety , a series of internal and public-facing dashboards dedicated to exploration , analysis and visualization of crash data across Ohio . Users of the newest work-zone dashboard have the ability to filter data and find the exact statistics they ’ re looking for while also
BF-00501102 getting a front-seat view of what troopers do every day in Ohio ’ s work zones .
Users of the dashboard have the ability to look at their own counties and routes , providing flexibility for them to get the exact data they want . An interactive map on the dashboard plots high-priority work zones throughout the state , as well as videos of troopers enforcing work-zone violations .
“ Ohio ’ s work zones are a top priority for the patrol , making sure that everyone has a safe driving and working environment ,” said Col . Richard S . Fambro , patrol superintendent . “ Troopers are committed to making work zones safer through focused enforcement and taking dangerous drivers off the road .”
Troopers on the ground also are assisted by troopers in the air from the patrol ’ s aviation section . Throughout Ohio ’ s construction season , the patrol ’ s aviation section has been utilized by focusing on dangerous speeds and distracted
