CRMC departments showcase holiday spirit

Coshocton Regional Medical Center employees showed off their creative skills and holiday spirit in a wreath-decorating contest .
“ We wanted to do something festive after the way the last two years have been ,” said Kaylee Andrews , manager of business development and marketing at the hospital . “ Everybody was given the same wreath to do what they wanted with . There were no real rules .”
Eighteen departments participated in the contest . The wreaths were displayed in the cafeteria , and employees were allowed to vote one time each for Most Creative , Best Overall and Best Department Representation .
“ I was very surprised with how excited the staff got ,” Andrews said . “ Once they started seeing them , there got to be some competition between the departments . I think it ’ s definitely something we ’ d like to continue doing .”
Winners of the contest were Most Creative , 311 Suite 101 ; Best Overall , dietary ; and Best Department Representation , housekeeping .
The theme for the 311 Suite 101 wreath was “ The Grinch That Stole the Clinic .” It featured different tools used in the clinic for tasks such as collecting specimens and removing sutures . It also had a beautiful display of ribbon done by Dr . Richcreek .
“ We had a blast ,” said Hellen Miles , from the office . “ We even took it all apart and redid it once .”

man theme and had a hidden message in theirs . A lemon was placed in the wreath in honor of an employee who passed away this summer from a car accident .
“ It was her last name , and Christmas was her favorite holiday ,” said LeeAnn Miller , dietitian at the hospital .
The housekeeping department ’ s wreath featured a variety of decorations showcasing their dedication to keeping the hospital clean and sanitary . There were miniature wet floor signs , cleaning bottles , a biohazard container and more all around the wreath .
“ We wanted to represent our department and felt this was the best way to do it ,” Rhonda Ringwalt said . “ We loved seeing all the other wreaths . This was a lot of fun , and a lot of work went into it .”
The winning departments will receive a pizza party at the date and time of their choosing .
