MONDAY , DEC . 23 , 1991 It has been announced that the Fourth annual Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure will run through Coshocton County . The event , which will take place in June , will see some 3,000 people come to Coshocton for two days . “ There is so much to see in that area , especially with Amish country next door ,” said director of the event , Tom Barlow .
WEDNESDAY , DEC . 26 , 2001 Coshocton saw some international visitors here over the holidays . Lyudmila Ivanova , a retired English teacher , and three students ; Kirill Gordeev , Bolina Maevskaya and Gadta Ermagova as well as Lida Sclocchini stayed with the Miller family as they toured Coshocton and informed county students on Russian ballroom dance . Sclocchini is a retired English teacher and serves to coordinate the Irkutsk Rotary Club ’ s cultural exchange program . She met Dorren and Catherine Miller back in 1997 , and first came to the county in 1999 . The three students were impressed with the county , despite being from a city of 600,000 . “ The houses here are neat and open , all the way down the street you can see the glass . We saw so much . Such a little town as West Lafayette has left such big impressions ,” said Ivanova .
WEDNESDAY , JAN . 5 , 2012 After 33 years on the bench Judge Richard Evans has retired . A retirement party was held before Christmas and saw courthouse staff and the community come out to celebrate his service . “ This means so much because he ’ s put so much into it . This has been his life ,” said his wife Jill Evans . Jon Mosier commented ,” Both working with the Judge at the sheriff ’ s office and for the last four years here , I think he ’ s been a great judge . I think he ’ s been a great public servant for Coshocton County , made a lot of tough decisions .” Bailiff Barry Ackerman said , “ Well , this is kind of the end of an era . I think a job well done for 33 years of service to the community and the county . This is kind of a tough day for all of us and for the Judge , I think , it ’ s an emotional day .”
