1996 CHS graduate featured in American Songwriter magazine

“ I have always enjoyed writing , and it is my way to sort through the world and my feelings ,” said Evan Abood . His songwriting has gained the attention of American Songwriter magazine . The 1996 Coshocton High School graduate was recently honored with a feature in their newsletter for his song , “ All I Know .”
While he has lived all over Northeast Ohio , he settled close to home in Zanesville . Abood joined his first rock band , Outlet , when he was 16 and began writing music soon after .
“ I was a student of poets and musicians . It ’ s a passion that has never left . I ’ ll always keep writing and playing ,” Abood said .
Abood said he has toured several states and has had the opportunity to meet many incredible musicians . “ I ’ ve had the opportunity to open for some really great acts including Rush . I ’ ve been very lucky . I ’ m currently working on online recording and turning out more songs of my own for the streaming world ,” he said .
Abood said his voice and his guitars are his main instruments .

According to his website at www . evanabood . com , Abood has been playing music as long as he can remember and is considered to be a “ unique alternative indie rock artist .” His music hints at ‘ 70s rock , grunge and soul and is enjoyed by music lovers of different genres .
Abood performs as both a solo act and as the front man for a classic rock cover band called Double Deuce . His shows are described as energetic and his delivery of his music as powerful .
“ I am currently in the studio and set to release two new singles , and I ’ ve got several new songs ready to record once the pandemic lets up . I am streaming on all major platforms — Apple , Spotify , YouTube , Amazon and more ,” Abood said .

“ I owe a lot of what I do to my wife Tasha ’ s support , as well as the lifelong support of my mother and father , Cynthia and Michael ( deceased ), who themselves are very musically inclined and always encouraged me to follow what I love ,” Abood said .
