Drive-thru food giveaway planned for this Saturday

Moving Mountains Ranch and Cross Creek Cattle Company , both in Warsaw , will host a drive-thru food giveaway on Saturday , Dec . 19 at noon at the Coshocton Fairgrounds . The drive-thru is offered to anyone with need .
“ Last year we helped the Salvation Army with food and goods . We gave a quarter beef in the past . We wanted to do something to help those around us this year . We want to meet the individual needs of people . This is our first year for this . We are shooting for 100 people ,” Emily Schmalzried from the ranch said . “ Buehler ’ s and Shopwise in Warsaw are providing canned food , and the Amish Bulk Food Store donated potatoes and apples . CC Cattle is providing ground beef and roasts .”
The story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 in Matthew 14:13-21 has a message and meaning that still holds true to this day . The story tells us to be compassionate for the needy and to provide them with the sustenance of God . With Jesus showing compassion and contributing his time and food , he wants others to follow his lead and do the same .
“ Jesus was able to feed the masses , and we were hoping to do the same . It ’ s the reason for the season , and we hope we can help ,” Schmalzried said . “ A small group of people will be passing out food and offering prayer if anyone needs it .”
Moving Mountains Ranch is a 501 ( c )( 3 ) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing counseling to youth of Coshocton and surrounding counties . “ I was inspired by Tom Roahrig of Higher Hopes Therapeutic Riding Center . We teamed up with JFS to offer the youth in the county our services with horse therapy . It ’ s an alternative therapy that has been known to work well . Being with animals is very therapeutic ,” Schmalzried said .

On Dec . 8 the Coshocton County Career Center Senior Student of the Quarter awards for the first nine weeks were distributed . Along with their certificate , students also were presented with a Domino ’ s Pizza gift card .
