Birthday party held for Jesus at Solid Rock

Solid Rock Four Square Church celebrated its annual Ladies Happy Birthday Jesus Party this year at the church on County Road 55 . The event has gradually gotten bigger over the years with friends inviting friends .
The evening begins with praise and worship that is followed by a covered-dish meal and
ends by playing a form of bingo called Happy Birthday Jesus , but everyone gets a present . The letters for Jesus replace the word bingo , and the first player to place five markers ( or in this case five macaroni ) in a row yells Happy Birthday Jesus and goes up to choose a prize . Everyone brings several gifts for prizes , and no one ever goes home empty handed .
The ladies make their best recipes , and there is plenty of holiday desserts to enjoy throughout the evening .
Pastor Larry and Cindy Massie have been at the church for 16 years , having moved to this area from Arizona . Cindy Massie makes her popular chicken enchiladas from her traditional Arizona recipe .
The ladies group supports four separate missions . The support is both local and around the world , and everyone signs Christmas cards for each of these missions at the party .
“ We have been celebrating Happy Birthday Jesus for over 16 years ,” Cindy Massie said . “ It has been really fun , and we have started doing it with the kids now .”
