Coshocton County Youth Leadership class graduates Coshocton County Youth Leadership held its graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 on Aug. 5 at the M Event Centre on the grounds of Coshocton KOA. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, guests were limited to family only; however, that did not detract from the evening’s celebration. Treated to presentations by the young philanthropists, audience members listened as the youth took turns at the podium to describe their Coshocton Foundation Trustee’s Pay It Forward Project. By the end of the presentations, it was evident the young philanthropists had touched a chord in the listening audience, as each described the personal impact the act of philanthropy had on them. These young leaders donated to local nonprofit organizations, charity events and the local animal shelter and purchased needed cleaning supplies and clothing for elementary students. It was an emotional night filled with gratitude for the gift of a community that repeatedly supports its young adults. Graduates of the Coshocton County Youth Leadership Class of 2020 include Zach Balo, Leah Brinker, Macey Geog, Aleigha Hardesty, Luke Massie, Tyler Nicely and Nathaniel Stamper from River View High School; Sophie Meiser and Taylor Moats from Coshocton High School; Hanna Doberstein from Coshocton Christian Submitted The Coshocton County Youth Leadership Class of 2020 includes Taylor Moats, front left, Sophia Meiser, Hanna Doberstein, Aleigha Hardesty, Macey Geog, Lexi Zimmer, Ariana Vanfossen and Leah Brinker; back, Nathaniel Stamper, Ethan Stroup, Luke Massie, Tyler Nicely, Zach Balo, Brayden Karr, Kurtis Varian and Betsy Gosnell, executive director. School; and Ethan Stroup, Ariana Vanfossen, Kurtis Varian and Lexi Zimmer of Ridgewood High School. Executive director Betsy Gosnell began the evening by welcoming guests and thanking the community for the continued support. Graduating youth then heard a message from Coshocton Foundation executive director Bob Pell, who assisted in distributing the certificates. Following the ceremony, guests were treated to cupcakes from Hannah Marie’s Bakery. Coshocton County Youth Leadership is a program of the Coshocton Foundation and receives funding from the Coshocton Foundation, the Dunmire Family Fund, the Simpson Family Fund and individual contributors. Developed as a project of the Leadership Coshocton County Class of 1994, CCYL provides a basic foundation of leadership skills for high school juniors, assists in the development of communication skills, and presents an opportunity to interact with community leaders and fellow participants.
