Pastors start Coshocton County Ministerial Association
By Josie Sellers
A group of local pastors are working together to launch the Coshocton County Ministerial Association . Peter Wolfgang , president ; Paula Marbury , vice president ; Matt Wilson , treasurer ; and Mike Jansen , secretary , created the organization to serve the communities of Coshocton County in interdenominational faith .
“ We knew there was the River View Ministerial Association , but we wanted to expand to include the whole county ,” Wolfgang said .
The Coshocton County Ministerial Association is a group of ministers from various faith walks , gathered to help build an interdenominational Christian community for all people through a movement of the Gospel that brings community formation and personal conversion to Coshocton County .
“ We have at least 16 different members from all different denominations ,” Wolfgang said . “ A community of Christians who have found life-giving friendship through a shared hope in the vision of the Gospel of Jesus Christ , we have gathered from across the ecclesial spectrum to support each other and our communities . Our shared values are full faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a belief in the mandate of The Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20 .”
According to Wolfgang , the organization ’ s goals are to support one another in their personal efforts to serve the church of Jesus Christ , to build and nurture a community of believers outside the walls of their own individual churches , and to form a body of living witnesses to the Gospel , demonstrated in part from a shared love for each other in this association .
“ We want to bring the divide between churches down ,” Wolfgang said . “ We all read the same Bible and serve the same Christ . We can do more together .”
The group already has a good working relationship with River View Local School District and is making contacts with Ridgewood and Coshocton to see how they can be more involved with students .
If interested in contacting the group for membership or to combine efforts with a community initiative you may be a part of , email peter . wolfgang . mba @ gmail . com .
“ We are open to organizations coming and sharing things they think we as pastors need to be trained in ,” Wolfgang said . “ We can then bring the information into our churches .”
Meetings are held at 8:30 a . m . the last Thursday of every month in the lobby area of the Coshocton Christian Tabernacle .
