River View
RVHS soccer picks up 12-1 win
The River View boys soccer team started out its 2023 campaign on the road against the Minerva Lions .
The Bears got off to an early start , scoring seven goals in the first half and only giving up a single penalty kick . The second half wouldn ’ t be much different as the Bears added another five goals as they shut out the Lions in the second half . The final score ended at 12-1 .
Scoring for the Bears was Camden Albertson with three goals and two assists , Parker Andrews with two goals , Remington Graham with one goal and two assists , Hayden Walters with one goal and one assist , Blaze Klein with one goal and one assist , Carter Knicely with one goal , Derek Beitzel with one goal ,
Nick Phillips with one goal , Cash Guilliams with one goal , and Cael Summers , Brody Stevens and Micah Hardesty each added an assist . Layton Massie added five saves in the keep .
Black Bear golfers place second
River View ’ s boys golf team competed on Aug . 14 against Ridgewood and Coshocton in the Coshocton Cup at River Greens Golf Course .
Coshocton won with a team score of 396 , River View had a 400 and Ridgewood had a 429 . Carter Summers led Coshocton with a 91 . Caleb Kline had River View ’ s top score with an 80 .
RVHS boys cross country
Ridgewood ’ s top placer was Zach Evin with a 91 .
On Aug . 15 the Black Bears took on Rosecrans at Hickory Flats . River View was led by Thad Cox with a 39 , Caleb Kline had a 40 and Isaiah Carpenter had a 60 .
Caleb Kline led the team on Aug . 16 at Perry Country Club with a 42 . Thad Cox had a 49 , and Isaiah Carpenter had a 58 .

River View ’ s junior high golf team beat East Canton on Aug . 11 with a team score of 143 . Individual scores

were Gavin Gress , 32 ( medalist ); Colton Gress , 33 ; Brynn Harstine , 38 ; Clark Frischen , 40 ; Makayla Gress , 44 ; Taylor Harstine , 45 ; and Ty Woodward , 56 .
The team picked up another win with a score of 287 with Gavin Gress as the match medalist with a 61 . Then on Aug . 17 at Hickory Flats , they beat Hiland with a team score of 147 . Individual scores were Colton Gress , 33 and medalist ; Clark Frischen , 36 ; Gavin Gress , 37 ; Taylor Harstine , 41 ; Bryson Darr , 63 ; Ty Woodward , 64 ; Kallen Aronhalt , 70 ; and Jason Fox , 75 .
