Shanna Stanton has experienced the annual Ohio Means Jobs – Coshocton County Employment Expo as a jobseeker , a recruiter and now as the event coordinator . " When I was there years ago trying to find a job , I thought it was an awesome experience ," said Stanton , the business coordinator for Ohio Means Jobs – Coshocton County . " You can walk around and collect business cards , network and learn about the opportunities that are out there . We have all types of employers on hand doing interviews — some may even hire people on the spot . Businesses today are in need of employees , and many are raising their wages to attract good , reliable workers ."
Following the termination

of the $ 300-perweek Federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program at the end of June , many Ohioans are now looking to return to work . The Employment Expo , Stanton said , is the ideal place to explore compelling opportunities .
This year ' s Employment Expo will be held Wednesday , Aug . 18 from 11 a . m . to 4 p . m . at the Coshocton Lake Park Pavilion . In recognition of Child Support Awareness Month , Ohio Means Jobs – Coshocton County will collaborate with the Child Support Enforcement Agency of the Coshocton County Department of Job and Family Services to provide information and resources during the expo . The Coshocton County Fatherhood Initiative also will be onsite .
" Families and kids are encouraged to attend ,"

Stanton said . " There will be hot dogs , ice cream and some fun activities for children . T-shirts will be given away on a first come , first served basis . We ' re looking forward to making it a nice family event ."
Employers at the expo will represent a variety of business types and a range of pay rates .
" We ' ll have a wide range of businesses , from food service to manufacturers to temp agencies ," Stanton said . " We ' ll have laptops available for attendees to use to print résumés or to fill out applications online .”
With more people returning to the work force , Stanton said the demand for childcare providers is particularly strong .
" A shortage of childcare providers is a national problem ," she said . " People who are looking to start or switch careers will find a lot of opportunities in childcare . This is the ideal time to do it , and the Employment Expo is the perfect place to explore what ' s available ."
The expo also gives employers the opportunity to network and share strategies for recruiting workers , Stanton said .
