There is more to a pageant title than a crown , sash and pretty dress . Community service is part of the experience too , and Tori Wine has been working hard to help others .

Wine , the daughter of Lisa and Bryan Wine and a senior at River View High School and the Coshocton County Career Center , is the ACM Northern Ohio Teen .

“ I was appointed this title after my application was evaluated to compete in the America ’ s Civic Miss Nationals Competition , which will take place in Maine on Aug . 13 , where I will compete virtually from Ohio ,” Tori Wine said .

Her pageant work also has included the Christmas in July project .

“ I did this as a community service project for the Christmas in July Charity

Pageant that I also won the title of , Miss Teen ABC ’ s Sunshine Christmas ,” Wine said . “ I decided to do this toy drive because as a young adult I want kids of all ages to feel as special as my family makes me feel on Christmas morning .”

With the help of the community , she gathered more than 200 toys for the Salvation Army to give to kids for Christmas .

“ I will be accepting donations till Dec . 1 and will be taking the toys that are donated straight to the Salvation Army so everyone feels included in the holiday fun ,” Wine said . “ Some other projects I ’ ve been working on are goodie bags for Coshocton County Animal Shelter , homemade get-well cards for Genesis Hospital , and book donations to fill all the Little Free Libraries in Coshocton County and

“ I ’ ve made a few appearances with my title including the West Lafayette Homecoming queen competition , and I would love to make more appearances in my hometown Coshocton County and hope to see more of my community soon .”

Wine said pageantry

is more than just a beauty contest .

“ It ’ s about ladies that want to better their communities in all different ways ,” she said . “ My experience through pageantry so far has been nothing but amazing . I ’ ve learned the true meaning of being a role model , having confidence and strength .”

Wine has met many people through her pageants and hopes to be a role model for young ladies everywhere .

“ I want to let them know that anything is possible and a change for the better in your community starts with you ,” Wine said . “ Some advice to ones that would like to compete for a title : Never let anyone tell you you can ’ t make a difference . Follow your dreams ; it ’ s as easy as you think . With some effort great rewards come from the experience . Don ’ t let anything hold you back from trying . It ’ s worth it ; I promise .”
