CCYL holds opening retreat

For our first meeting together , Casey Claxon and Shelly Pane arrived to facilitate our retreat . We participated in a lot of character development and leadership education activities .
The activities and lessons we participated in taught us a lot about ourselves , others and leadership . The activities forced us all to bond and work with each other , causing us to get to know one another .
One of the activities we participated in involved competition and grace . There were random items hidden on the ground in a small area . We were then split into two teams and put into two lines . Everyone was blindfolded except the last person in each line . The object

of the game was to find all of the objects on the ground without talking or seeing . We had to create our own form of language to find the items . The game taught us we had to adapt to the circumstances and find a different way to get to the ultimate goal .
All of the activities we participated in taught us something different about ourselves , each other and leadership . We also met with Mr . Bob Pell again . He taught us about the Pay It Forward Projects we will all work on . We will all receive $ 100 and have the choice of a charity to donate the money to . You can either donate the money or invest the money and see how much more money you can make or what you can get with the money you have . We will create a presentation on the project and present our work to the Coshocton County Foundation and our families .
If you would like to learn more or have any questions about CCYL , call or email Executive Director Betsy Gosnell at 740-622-0010 or lead @ coshoctonfoundation . org .
