Louis “ Lou ” Gardina , 73 , passed away unexpectedly at home on July 25 , 2024 . He was born to Mary ( Bracone ) ad Joseph Gardina on March 30 , 1951 , in Dennison , Ohio . He graduated from Coshocton High School in 1969 and went to Kent State . In 1958 , his family moved to Coshocton and opened the first pizza shop in Coshocton , which was enjoyed by many generations . The family was 100 % Italian so Lou and his siblings are great cooks . In Coshocton , he worked in the Welfare Department and several car dealerships . people person with a quick wit , full of jokes and a plethora of information . He loved his family and friends and made sure they knew it .

He is survived by his wife of 40 years , Carol ; sons , Nicholas ( Christina ) Gardina of Westerville , Louie ( Erin ) Gardina of Columbus , Darrell Holskey of Coshocton and Tobie ( Brian ) Coogan of Spokane , WA ; 4 granddaughters , Brittany Holskey of Harrisburg , PA , Olivia ( Michael ) Pina of Post Falls , ID , Bailey ( Niles ) Coogan of Spokane , WA and Mira Gardina and a great-granddaughter , Lucia “ Lucy ” Ann Pina ; siblings , Mary ( Bob ) Lapp of Columbus and Tony ( Cindy ) Gardina of Kettering , OH and many nieces and nephews .

He was preceded in death by his parents , Mary and Joe Gardina , his in laws , Mary and Joe Fortune ; brother , Joe Gardina , brother-in-law , Dave Fortune and sisterin-law , Roxie Simpson .

A cremation will take place with the Miller- Kaser Cremation Services and a Celebration of Life will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church a later date .

Charles Glenn Baumer , 92 , of Coshocton , went to be with his Savior on Friday , July 26 , 2024 , at Licking Memorial Hospital . He was born in New Philadelphia on October 11 , 1931 , to the late C . Glenn Baumer and Dorothy ( Nicholas ) Baumer . On April 18 , 1953 , he married Shirley J . ( Geltz ) Baumer who proceeded him in death on July 5 , 2024 . Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Corporal during the Korean War and retired from General Electric – Coshocton .

Receiving God ’ s free gift of salvation more than fifty years ago , he attended Victory Baptist Church , where he taught Sunday School and drove the church bus for several years . A mechanic for much of his life , he had an affinity for classic cars .

and Greg ( Sharon ) Baumer of Newark , OH , and son-in-law Matt Elvin Sr ., of Uhrichsville . Grandchildren include Matthew , Mark , and Michael Elvin , Cara Renner , Crista Berry , Roger Grantham , Michael Cormack , Candace Cormack , Rachel Dillon , Kelly Thomspon , Lisa Baumer , and Nick Baumer ; thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren . He is also survived by sisters , Doris ( Dick ) Bichsel , and Portia ( Ken ) Metzger .

In addition to his parents and wife , he is preceded in death by his daughter , Mary Margaret ( Baumer ) Elvin ; daughterin-law , Carla Baumer ; grandson , Chad Baumer ; and siblings , Glenda Rittenour and John Albert Baumer .

Friends were able to call at the Miller Funeral Home , 639 Main , Street , Coshocton , OH 43812 on Wednesday , July 31 , 2024 , from 11am- 12:00pm , funeral services began at 12:00pm with his son , Pastor Jeff Baumer , and his pastor , Pastor Ralph Johson officiating . Burial followed at Dover Burial Park , Dover , OH , with his grandson , Army Chaplain Dr . Michael Cormack officiating .

In lieu of floral tributes , memorial contributions can be made to Victory Baptist Church or Community Hospice . Envelopes are available at the funeral home .

Thelma Pauline Shearn , 97 , of Coshocton , Ohio , went to be with the lord , July 22 , 2024 , at Devine Rehabilitation and Nursing at Shoenbrunn in New Philadelphia , Ohio .

She was born February 18 , 1927 , in Coshocton to the late Elwood and Gladys Shearn . She attended and graduated from Coshocton High School and was a long time employee of Ansell-

Thelma was preceded in death by three sisters Clara Merrell , Ruth Shaheen , and Barbara Wilson and one brother Richard Shearn .

Thelma is survived by nephews Richard ( Lyn ) Merrell and Michael Shaheen and niece Sharon ( Jack ) Barnett as well as several great and greatgreat nieces and nephews .
