David L . Shepler , 68 , of Temple , Texas , formerly of Coshocton , passed away on Tuesday , March 29 , 2022 .
David was born in Coshocton on Aug . 20 , 1953 , to the late Harvey and Dorothy ( Stover ) Shepler .
He graduated from River View High School , in the class of 1971 . David received his associates degree from Muskingum Technical College in 1973 in electrical engineering and his bachelor ’ s degree in business from Malone College in 1991 .
He worked at AEP Conesville in the lab for 42 years . David was also involved in oil and gas leasing , was an independent tax advisor and was currently a real estate agent and appraiser for TARA Land Company in Temple , Texas .
David was a 4-H advisor for 35 years , a River View School Board member for eight years , was active with the River View Music Boosters

and was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church where he served on a variety of committees .
He is survived by his children , Jay ( Ashley ) Shepler of Coshocton , Kyle Shepler of Cleveland and Kim ( Adam ) Fortney of Willowick , OH ; grandchildren , Sam Shepler , Ashton Fries , Nicholas Shepler , Jesslyn Fortney and Kaylee Fortney ; sister , Lisa ( Jim ) Crawford of Coshocton ; and a brother , Greg Shepler of London , OH .

Coshocton on Tuesday , April 12 , 2022 , from 10 a . m . to noon where a memorial service will begin at noon with Pastor Ryan Hill officiating . Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery .

Historical club to meet in Warsaw

The Coshocton Historical Club will welcome its members and friends to the Walhonding Valley Historical Society Museum at the corner of Bridge and Main streets in the center of Warsaw . They will tour the museum on Monday , April 11 at 1 p . m .
The committee members are Brenda Davis , Bee Lehner and Mary Louise Newell . There will be no business meeting . Carpooling is encouraged .
