Patterson set to play basketball at Muskingum

Ridgewood High School senior Dalton Patterson signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Muskingum University this fall .
Ridgewood coach Troy Dolick has been Patterson ’ s varsity basketball coach for the last four years .
“ Dalton began playing as a freshman . He ’ s had over 102 career basketball games and scored over 1,000 points for us ,” Dolick said . “ He ’ s had a phenomenal career and led us to three district appearances , IVC title , regional appearance during the COVID year when

Stay hydrated when warm

As spring and summer are approaching and the temperatures start to warm up , hydration is important for every age group . Dehydration is when the body is using more fluids than the individual is taking in . As the temperatures start to climb and people spend more time outdoors , they are sweating more and losing that fluid . Dehydration is preventable by consuming enough water per day .
If an individual is spending a great deal of time outdoors or doing extensive workouts , they would benefit from a sports drink to replace electrolytes . Some common beverage choices can cause the body to lose more fluid because they are a diuretic . Example of these beverages would be coffee and tea .

He is a wonderful kid and comes from a wonderful family . He will be successful at whatever he does . He chose to play basketball . Patterson plans to play basketball at Muskingum and study sports management . “ My high school career went pretty well ,” he said . “ I played basketball , ran track and played football . My favorite memory of playing basketball was at O . U . my sophomore year . This year was another great year . I ’ ve had a basketball

the elderly . Children will dehydrate easily if they have a stomach virus with vomiting and diarrhea . Children should be encouraged to drink more water than juice every day . Children are only recommended to have 4 ounces of juice per day . An easy way to stretch their juice is to mix it with water so they still have the flavoring of the juice .
Elderly usually do not take in enough fluids for what their body needs . When they get an infection , they lose what fluids their body has very easily . Some signs of dehydration are vomiting , diarrhea , excessive sweating and frequent urination .

His mother Annie Patterson said , “ He grew up with a basketball in his hand , so I wasn ’ t surprised when he got offers are getting enough fluids in your diet would be if your urine is the color of lemon juice . If your urine is the color of apple juice or has a bloody cast to it , call your doctor . Some medical conditions require fluid restrictions . In these cases it is best to speak with your doctor or dietitian for how much fluid to take in each day . Items that are counted as fluids are anything that is a liquid at room temperature . Examples would be soups , Popsicles and ice cream . There are some other ways to get extra fluid such as eating watermelon or frozen grapes .
As the temperatures rise and summer comes , make sure to get enough fluids so you can enjoy the beautiful weather .
