K o l b y M a s l o s k i signed a letter of intent to play football at Muskingum University in the fall .

“ I ’ ve gone to Ridgewood High School my whole life , and I ’ ve been playing football since about the third grade ,” he said . “ I want to continue my career at Muskingum and play football every single year that I am there . I lettered three years , and we were IVC champs three years . We had a pretty successful season , and we have gone undefeated . We just lost a couple in the regular season .”

His dad Mike Masloski said he is proud his son will attend Muskingum , the same school he attended as an undergraduate and as a graduate .

“ Kolby has been around Muskingum facilities and some of the faculty members , so it ’ s a place he feels comfortable with , similar to Ridgewood , where he has been blessed with great coaches , great teachers and great friends , and it ’ s another progression in his life ,” Mike Masloski said . “ He wants to be a school teacher and work with kids . He ’ s had a lot of experience here at Ridgewood working with preschool kids and middle school kids .

“ He ’ s entering Muskingum with 27 hours of college credit through Muskingum and an additional six hours through

Stark State . So he ’ ll be entering as a sophomore , which puts him at a good pace of graduating early . We are very proud of him .”

His mother Robin Masloski said , “ Kolby is thrilled to death to be playing football at the collegiate level , and I am very thrilled for him . I ’ m excited to see him wear the magenta and black . I ’ m excited for him

because he loves it and it ’ s a huge thing for him and for us . I remember at 2 years old , he got a little football for Christmas , and all he wanted to do was kick his football . He didn ’ t want his other presents . He just wanted to kick this football . He loves every sport , but football is his passion .”

“ He ’ s been a great football player , great program guy , a great kid and a great role model in our community . I think he ’ ll do awesome at Muskingum because he loves to play the game . He is a good boy , and he will work extremely hard ,” Ridgewood head football coach John Slusser said .
