BANQUET: Royalty crowned at dairy banquet
FROM PAGE 28
Following the crowning of royalty door prizes were
awarded with everyone in attendance receiving at least
one item.
Pritchard Sturtz explained in a brief interview with
“Th e Beacon" why the dairy industry is special to her,
“When I was a little girl growing up I enjoyed farming.
I liked farming from day one, I liked milking cows, and
even up until three years ago I did it until Dave, my
brother died. I’ve always enjoyed it and I try to help the
kids down the road do the same thing.”
As those that are familiar with the dairy industry
know, it is not an easy profession and especially the past
few years - Pritchard Sturtz said, “I’m happy that they’re
still doing it (the many dairy farmers in Coshocton
County) because like I said, it’s a rough road anymore.
Th ere are a lot of farmers that I’ve known that are quit-
ting because they just can’t make it anymore.”
A favorite memory of Pritchard Sturtz’s growing up
was, “I just always liked going out and milking. We
milked 33 cows by hand. Sometimes when dad and
grandpa came home late I would see how many cows I
could get milked before they got home. And I wasn’t very
old then.”

Television.”
“Th is long held democratic priority has become a
bipartisan issue in recent years, because of the simple
belief that good government is a non-partisan issue and
Ohioans deserve more of it,” said Sykes. “I’m pleased that
we’re working together to take these steps in order to
make sure that the Ohio House of Representatives is open
to taxpayers across the state, maybe the country, hopeful-
ly even the world.”
Speaker Householder is making all house committees
available to the public through a livestream for the fi rst
time. Th is will open up access and make the work at the
statehouse more transparent. As more cameras are in-
stalled in the other committee rooms, more committees
will be able to be viewed online. Th e cameras will be fully
installed in all committee rooms by the end of summer.

be completed over the summer break. Th ese nine rooms
will allow for a culture of open government and greater
access to statehouse activities.
“Th e benefi ts of live camera access to state government
are signifi cant,” stated Householder. “First of all, it allows
people fi rst hand access to state government who would
not be able to be here in person. It allows Ohioans to
see and hear their legislators working on their behalf. It
allows them to have unfi ltered, unedited access to the
actions here in the statehouse and allows us to reach a
maximum audience. From this location anywhere in the
