Grant application deadline approaching
COSHOCTON - Deadline for Unrestricted Grant applications for the next meeting of the Distribution Committee of the Coshocton Foundation is May 24 .
Community organizations with a 501 ( c )( 3 ) non-profit designation may submit grant applications for consideration by the committee , which will meet on June 12 .
Information for criteria for applying organizations and a grant application may be found at www . coshoctonfoundation . org ., or by calling the office at ( 740 ) 622-0010 .
Completed applications may be sent to the Coshocton Foundation , P . O . Box 55 , Coshocton , OH 43812 , or brought to the Coshocton Foundation office at 220 S . Fourth St . Seven copies of the grant request are required to be submitted . All applications must be received in the office by 4 p . m . on May 24 .

Bass Masters announce results
COSHOCTON - Three Rivers Bass Masters had their first tournament of the season on April 22 at Salt Fork Lake with the following results : First Place , James Hardway , with a catch of 8.82 lbs .; second place , Brett Lingo with a catch of 3.65 lbs .; third place , Wilmer Eckelberry , with a catch of 2.68 lbs .; and big bass went to James Hardway with a catch of 3.85 lbs .

Coshocton Choral program features Broadway music
The Coshocton City Schools combined choral music department presented their spring program , “ Main Street to Broadway ” in McKinley Auditorium at the high school on Sunday afternoon , April 23 with a special appearance by 3MP , a registered Sweet Adelines International Quartet . Three seniors were lauded prior to the program : Lauren Annabelle Babcock , Michaela Rae Hysong and Noah Ryan Kaser . Heath Chaney , class of 2007 , that has meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.00P . M . was a special guest performer and is pictured with Lauren Babcock in a scene from the program . Michael Blowers is the director of high school choral studies and activities . Richard Early serves as the dance director and choreographer for the Coshocton High School choir . The choir is planning a trip to Newark to sing at the Midland Theater next month and New York City this spring and intends to see a Broadway performance .
Toastmasters International President-Elect in Coshocton

COSHOCTON - Bairaj Arunasalam , DTM , pictured , who is the International Toastmasters President-Elect for 2016-2017 and will take the reins as President of the organization this summer , stopped in Coshocton on Monday , April 24 and spoke to members of the newly formed Coshocton Toastmasters club . He also toured Organic Technologies while visiting the community .
Arunasalam has been a member of Toastmasters for 28 years in his native country of Sri Lanka . He told the members gathered at the Frontier Power Community Room that , “ This club - you get it right - you can do great things . We ’ re not just a public speaking organization , we are a transformation engine . In ten weeks you can transform people .”
“ Speech craft is a very powerful thing . You need 17 to 18 people attending to get the most out of Toastmasters - that means about 30 members . Toastmasters is a walking encyclopedia for life . You must have fun !”
Toastmasters are currently in 145 countries with eight different official languages for the programs around the world . English is the predominant language of the clubs around the world . Toastmasters are about much more than public speaking with a strong emphasis on communications and leadership .
Lisa Mowery is the President of the Coshocton Toastmasters club and Tom Heading is Co-President with Mary Ellen Given serving as secretary . Officers , guests , club members and distinguished Toastmasters district officers were in attendance at the meeting , including Kathleen L . Donovan , Club Growth Director , District 40 for Toastmasters .
The Coshocton Toastmasters club will hold their next meeting on Thursday , May 4 from noon to 1 p . m . at Organic Technologies , located at 545 Walnut Street in Coshocton in the Linnaeus Room .
