What kind of tea party are we organizing for you on May 3?
What kind of tea party is this? It’ s the most unique one ever to be held in Coshocton, and it’ s all on the up and up. Ha, when’ s the last time you heard that phrase?
Our spring tea party will be held Saturday, May 3 from 2-4 p. m. at Frontier Power’ s community room, located at 770 S. Second St.
There are at least two entrances to the building, so I’ m hoping to have something eyecatching beside the one to use, like a yard flag. Frontier Power is great to let us use their community room. It’ s

the day after they have their Customer Appreciation Day with free hot dogs and hamburgers in their big building out back. Then they’ re clearing everything away and putting the tables back in their community room for us to use. Plus, Kelly Kendall will put a notice about our tea party on their electronic marquee out front. She also is contributing toward our gift for you too.
This tea party, with all its components, is co-sponsored by the Coshocton County District Library and Coshocton’ s Write-On Writers Guild. Kelly McCorkle is the library’ s manager of adult services.
Our guild has been meeting at the library for 25 years. It’ s been a while since we did something jointly. Kelly came up with the idea of a spring tea party and all the neat things we’ re doing that day.

guild. She’ s our treasurer. Maybe not having a full slate of officers and minutes of meetings is one of the reasons we’ ve lasted so long. New members are joining us too. This morning I thought of another reason for the success of our many writers’ workshops over the years: We gather in a circle and have a prayer before each event.
Before going any further, the most important thing to tell you is we have limited seating for the tea party. You need to call the library at 740- 622-0956 to make your reservation, between now and May 1 at noon.
One big feature of this spring tea party is there is no admission fee, no raffles and nothing to buy. It’ s open to adults, both men and women.
We’ ve sent invitations to people out of town, in particular some authors who came for our book fairs. Bring a friend and have fun with Kelly’ s Photo Op.
When you enter the room, you’ ll see the book swap area first. This is where you bring a book and take a book. Glenn’ s got two books he’ s bringing. I’ ve got 11, to start the choices available. When I attended Clary Gardens’ Book Swap on Feb. 20, it was wonderful to see all the men who came— and to realize so many people still read books.
Because this letter is getting so long, I’ ll just run together the rest of the features of our spring tea party. You’ ll be amazed that a public library and a writers guild, after all these years

Besides the photo op area with a backdrop and props, we’ re having sheets of Tea Party Boggle for everyone with prizes, provided by the library, and playing three games of tea party bingo with prizes of real bone china teacup and saucer sets, provided by the guild.
