APRIL 25—26—27
COSHOCTON - Central Christian Church is having an all
you can eat sausage and sauerkraut supper on Saturday,
April 27.
Th is is a fund raiser to support Caring Essentially
Coshocton, a mission of the church that supports the
community on a monthly basis, providing toilet paper,
shampoo, detergent, etc. for eligible residents.
Th is meal began in 1940 in an area of Cincinnati
known as Winton Place. In its early days, it was called
Wooden Shoe Hollow and the residents were truck
farmers – raising and selling tomatoes and lettuce to the
farmer’s market. Connie Miller’s grandfather, William
Goetz, smoked sausage for his family. When his church
held its fi rst sausage and sauerkraut supper, Goetz made
the sausage in his smoke house. Th e smoke houses have
disappeared but, the sausage supper continues in Win-
ton Place and Stehlin’s Meat Market on Colerain Avenue
makes the sausage.
Th is is a family style sit-down meal for a donation of
$12 per person. Th e menu includes rolls, applesauce,
dessert and all-you-can-eat sausage, sauerkraut,
mashed potatoes, and green beans. To make your
reservation, call the church at 740-622-2208. Pay when
you arrive. Serving starts at 5:30 p.m. Central Christian
Church is located at 731 Main St.
