Lake Park ’ s shoreline near the entrance to the park is getting a facelift .

“ We are doing quite a bit of cleanup there at the lake ,” park director Lori Everhart said . “ We had William Albert Excavating remove most of the cattails . They were pretty much taking over , and there were a lot of trees growing in there . The cleanup will make it a bit more accessible for fishing .”

Both docks in the area also are being repaired .

“ We will have everything done on these projects before the fishing tournament in May ,” Everhart said .

The projects are being funded by the Friends of the Park , and Everhart said the sportsman ’ s association chipped in on the cattail removal .

“ It will look totally different and cleaned up on the edge of the lake ,” Everhart said .

The opposite side of

the lake along the bank is being cleaned up by the current Leadership Coshocton County class .

A fishing license is not required to fish at Lake Park or the basins .

The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is currently offering halfprice family memberships through Monday , May 31 .

Through this limited-time offer , a family can purchase a yearlong membership to the museum for $ 25 , which includes free admission , free or reduced admission to most programs , a preview party for special exhibits , a 10 % discount in the gift shop and a free poster . The featured poster choices are either N . C . Wyeth ’ s Corn Harvest or Indian Trails of Coshocton County .

The JHM houses four permanent galleries featuring American Indian baskets and beadwork , Asian fine and decorative arts and weaponry , and Coshocton advertising art . JHM ’ s collection also includes local history and prehistoric Ohio Indian tools and points . The featured special exhibit is “ A Playground of Color ,” featuring bright , whimsical artwork created by Coshocton County elementary students . The museum also offers regular educational programming for both adults and children .

Half-price family memberships are limited to one per household .
