Blessed Again providing household items, clothing, more to community
By Jen Jones The Beacon
Janet Gore was a volunteer for Journey’ s End for many years before she decided to retire.
“ I was happily retired, until God told me to open Blessed Again. He even told me the name I was supposed to use,” she said.
Gore said she wasn’ t sure she wanted to do what God said, and it took about a year before she listened to him. Then she needed a place.
“ There aren’ t many large buildings in Newcomerstown that we could use,” she said.
The manager of Medi- Wise store offered her a large room in his building rent-free for a year.“ And Journey’ s End sent boxes of items and racks for clothes. Twelve volunteers from Journey’ s End also showed up, and we were up and running in about a month,” she said.
Blessed Again is a faithbased service that provides free clothing, bedding, children’ s items, small kitchen items and other household goods. Prayers also are offered to anyone who has a need or just wants to talk about their faith. Everything is clean and organized by size, so it’ s easy to find what you may need. While all the items are free, donations are appreciated.
Gore and her volunteers opened Blessed Again in August 2022.

“ The community is just so generous. People are always asking where they can take clothing to donate, and we would love to have it. Donations can be dropped off any time Medi-Wise is open. They have big bins you can roll out to your car and fill. We go in every day to sort items so they don’ t pile up,” Gore said.“ We are trying to reach souls— to share our faith and our testimonies with anyone who
would like to listen.
“ We are overly blessed by God to be able to provide this to our community. It’ s such a great experience to be part of.”
Gore said they do not have room for furniture or big appliances.“ We have a huge selection of Christian and children’ s books. We always have toys too. We will take almost anything small that someone might need in their home,” she said.
She said their rent is now $ 600 a month, and churches and individuals have been very supportive of them. Medi-Wise is located on the corner of State and River streets in Newcomerstown. Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m.
Blessed Again is open Monday from 2-4:45 p. m. and Wednesday from 9 a. m. to noon for those in need. It serves the communities of Coshocton, West Lafayette and Newcomerstown.
