Once the end to child soldiers has been finalized, we think the children and families of the Democratic Republic of the Congo need help and stability. They have the right to education and to live with their families and this crime has taken that away from them. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child says that "all children have the right to special protection in time of conflict and should not take a direct part in hostilities." (CBBC Newsround, 2014 ) There are many projects currently being set up across the world to help ex-child soldiers and also counselling them in order to help them return to civilian life.
