The Cone Issue #4 Winter 2015 | Page 3

From the Editor’s Desk Bonne Annee! Happy New Year! To some Winter is a time of endings, the fields have been plowed to await the Spring planting, trees stand naked without their leaves, a year will come to an end and yet it is also in Winter that a new year begins. It is with the energy of renewal that I approach Winter. Perhaps things slow down a bit, but all the better to recharge the battery; there may be a few more layers of clothing but all the better to shelter and rejuvenate the body for the Spring that’s to come. At ProSeed Books and The Cone we enter this Winter invigorated in our continual march toward growth, collaboration, exploration and our desire to make a difference in the world, however small. With this our fourth issue The Cone has now completed a year of publication and our viewers have grown steadily so I wanted to thank all of you for taking time to peruse, read and share The Cone. As much as The Cone is a truly collaborative effort of many writers and artists around the globe, our biggest collaboration is with you, the reader. Even as I write this the Spring issue is actively being planned and I am excited to see what improvements 2015 will bring to the publication. In this issue photographer Ana Yazdi takes us on a photographic journey in Turkey, we will learn how to Cut It Old School; we have interviews with Artist Andre Allen and with Actor/Writer David Dastmalchian and that is just the tip of the iceberg of this jam packed issue. So I hope you will dive in deep, read the articles, watch the videos, engage and explore. It may be Winter, but we’re not slowing down here at The Cone. 3 THE CONE - ISSUE #4 - WINTER 2015
