Remembering Lindalyn Adams …
raised three sons , chaired the Crystal Charity Ball in 1976 , helped La Fiesta De Las Seis Banderas in 1985 , was a charter member of the Women ’ s Auxiliary of The Salvation Army and the fourth president of Old City Park , and received the SMU Distinguished Alumni Award .
A 30-year breast cancer survivor , Lindalyn was a driving force behind the launch of the Foundation ’ s Celebrating Women effort 22 years ago , and her leadership was instrumental in the luncheon ’ s success . “ I went to that very first luncheon , and it was just going to be part of my life , I could tell ,” she said of her involvement . Her dedication to the Celebrating Women mission and patients battling breast cancer was unmatched , and she remained committed to championing this effort even after her retirement from the Foundation last year .
This September , at the age of 91 , Lindalyn passed away as her granddaughter read Psalm 23 . At her memorial , Joel T . Allison , former president and CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health , reflected , “ Lindalyn
not only lived a successful life but , more importantly , a significant one .” While her loss is profound , the people and places Lindalyn spent a lifetime lifting up live on in a legacy that will be forever remembered and difficult to match .
Lindalyn was a driving force behind the launch of Celebrating Women 22 years ago .
“ As we all know , Mom had spent her entire adult life helping worthwhile organizations in Dallas as a dynamic leader and fundraiser . It was such a blessing for her to go to work at the Foundation every day and be able to do what she loved , working with wonderful people and raising money for worthwhile causes ,” Lindalyn ’ s son , Charlie Adams , said .
“ We were so fortunate to benefit from her wisdom , guidance , passion and support , but most of all her friendship — she was truly one of a kind ,” said Margo Goodwin , former chair of Celebrating Women , board member and former chair of the Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation Board . “ Her legacy will live on through her good works for our Foundation and Celebrating Women and the countless institutions she served and enriched throughout our community .”

Honoring Lindalyn ’ s legacy
Lindalyn Adams was truly one of a kind — she touched many lives at
BSW Dallas Foundation , at Baylor Scott & White Health and through the countless institutions she served and enriched throughout the community .
As a 30-year-plus breast cancer survivor , Lindalyn was especially passionate about advancing the fight against breast cancer for women in North Texas and the was the driving force behind the launch of Celebrating Women more than two decades ago .
In an effort to honor her legacy and recognize her unwavering commitment to this effort , the Foundation announced the establishment of the Lindalyn B . Adams Celebrating Women Endowment in October . Through Celebrating Women , this endowment will support patient-centered programs such as patient navigation , genetic counseling , child life services and our High-Risk Breast Screening Program . Thanks to generous support , more than $ 250,000 was raised in one month alone .
“ While Lindalyn would hate the attention , she would be humbled to know that her commitment to the fight against breast cancer has been carried on by friends she held so dear ,” said Tucker Enthoven and Ola Fojtasek , 2017 Celebrating Women chair and underwriting chair . “ It is our privilege to help support this endowment to continue her legacy and the impact she made throughout her lifetime .”
