“ The Burdetts ’ generous donation is an incredible gift to families and patients of all ages experiencing serious illness ,” says Dr . Educating the Next Generation

Baylor Scott & White Health announces new and expanded academic affiliations .

xcellent healthcare requires excellent training for the medical professionals of tomorrow . To that end , we are pleased to announce two alliances aimed at training future clinicians and developing programs that advance high-quality care and healthcare innovation .
Building on our collaboration with Texas A & M Health
Over the past four decades , we have worked with Texas A & M to change healthcare for the better in countless ways . Our new expanded affiliation will include a major expansion of the Texas A & M Health campus in Dallas and the university ’ s presence at Baylor University Medical Center , our flagship facility in the North Texas area , allowing us to grow the program to include more than 300 students . Additionally , we will explore the development of a new physician assistant program and evaluate growth of educational opportunities in nursing and pharmacy in the Bryan / College Station area .
Establishing a new Baylor College of Medicine campus in Temple We are also excited to announce a new affiliation with Baylor College of Medicine , one of the most prominent medical schools in the country . Our 20-year relationship will be anchored by the development of a progressive regional medical school campus in Temple , as well as System-wide opportunities for expanded research and program development . We anticipate an inaugural class of 40 medical students to begin training in Temple during the fall of 2023 , and a total student body for the campus building to 160 students over four years .
Training Texas physicians
Through these affiliations , we strive to leave a lasting impact on the health of Texans for generations to come . Both medical schools see a high percentage of graduates stay in Texas for their residency training , and we are confident that the increased number of medical students being trained will produce future generations of physicians serving as leaders in our communities and providing high-quality care to the people of Texas .
