Robert Conte Wellness Center
Construction is underway on a new wellness facility at the new Baylor Scott & White Clinic - Midtown in College Station .
s part of our dedication to the health and wellness of the communities we serve , Baylor Scott & White continues to invest in programs focused on healthy living . The Robert Conte Wellness Center will focus on health education , nutrition , and physical activity . Physicians at the adjacent primary care clinic — also currently under construction — will work hand in hand with health and wellness coaches to meet each patient ’ s specific needs in the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle .
The center will feature several physician-referred educational programs designed to help patients manage chronic disease and make healthy choices . The first two programs will focus on movement disorders and obesity . Future plans also include fitness classes , healthy cooking classes , social events , and support groups .
The center will be named in honor of a generous gift by the late Dr . Robert Conte and his wife , Cindy . As a physician , Dr . Conte was passionate about helping people navigate what he called the “ uncharted journey ” of healthy aging . After after he was diagnosed with Parkinson ’ s , he gained new perspective about the value of identifying tools for coping with his symptoms . The couple ’ s legacy is a place where patients can learn the skills to manage their own health with the support of a community of others with similar conditions .

You can be part of bringing this exciting new resource to the College Station community . Some of our needs include : f Program costs for fitness coaches to develop a personalized wellness plan for each patient f Exercise equipment f Driving simulator f Walking / running track for exercise and physical rehabilitation

hank you to all our sponsors and participants for the 29 th Annual Healthcare Classic Golf Tournament . The event raised close to $ 30,000 to support the Emergency Department renovation project at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Brenham ( see construction updates on page 5 ).
