Letter from the President
An important element of Baylor Scott & White Health ’ s customer-focused strategy is our Vision : empowering you to live well . This Vision comes up frequently in conversations with leaders across our campuses and extends beyond the delivery of medical treatment and care . The journey to well-being involves having convenient tools at your disposal and being well informed and well supported , and I am excited to share a few ways we are putting this into action .
The MyBSWHealth app stands as a testament to our commitment to convenience and empowerment . With this app , you have the power to navigate your healthcare journey around the clock . It goes beyond mere convenience — it is a lifeline for accessing care , communicating with physicians , scheduling video appointments and managing prescriptions and test results . For me , the app does not just guide my healthcare journey , it allows me to partner in care with one of my extended family members and help him live well .
Through annual checkups , mammograms , colonoscopies and other preventive care , we are providing our patients with information they can use to guide their healthcare decisions . As we look to the future of care , Baylor Scott & White is making key investments in research that will further these efforts . This reflects our commitment to giving individuals the power to take control of their health and wellness , especially when it matters most .
Baylor Scott & White ’ s commitment to empowering our patients and their families includes serving their holistic needs as well . We do this through programs such as Child Life Services , Arts in Medicine and Mission and Ministry — areas that also rely on generous support from philanthropy . The impact of these programs is immeasurable in the overall health and well-being of those we serve because we know that physical health is inexorably tied to a person ’ s spiritual , emotional and social well-being .
As we all navigate the path to a healthier life , I am grateful to be guided by such a meaningful Vision and hope you all are empowered to live well .
