Match Day
In June , we eagerly anticipate the arrival of 54 new residents to the Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center - Fort Worth campus . We are especially proud to introduce four exceptional individuals joining our newly established Anesthesiology program . Six residents will be joining Emergency Medicine , 20 in Transitional Year , three in General Surgery , six in Obstetrics and Gynecology , and 16 in Internal Medicine .

The Next Step
After completing residency , physicians are eligible to practice medicine independently , but they must first pass licensing exams . They also have the opportunity to obtain board certification in patient care and medical innovation at our institution .
their specialty by taking specialty-specific board exams .
Alternatively , physicians may choose to further specialize by pursuing a fellowship . This additional training allows them to concentrate on a specific area within their initial specialty and typically lasts one to three years . For example , someone who completed a general surgery residency might pursue a fellowship in subspecialties like plastic or reconstructive surgery , vascular surgery , hand surgery or others .
Of the 15 Internal Medicine residents who began the two-year residency in June 2022 at Baylor Scott & White – Fort Worth , 10 will be staying in north central Texas to begin their career in medicine .
