The research is entitled, "Critical presentation and management of an acute gastrointestinal haemorrhage as a result of an arterioenteric fistula secondary to a failed pancreatic allograft." Juliette Kassas, DO '21 and Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship, Carol Brenner, PhD, recently published a paper, "In Vitro Fertilization in a Nulliparous Female Resulting in Placenta Increta and Postpartum Hemorrhage" in Cureus.

Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is not commonly screened as it is diagnosed in only 0.2% of pregnancies. However, it can be life-threatening and has been shown that in vitro fertilization (IVF) is associated with a higher risk of PAS. Learn more.
