The COMmunicator 2021-22 Vol. 1 | Page 26

The SDoHM initiative was started in hopes that the COM and UNE Healthcare community would engage in discussions which are difficult, yet necessary. We also hope that through conversations, reflections, learning (and some un-learning), UNE healthcare community members make a commitment to accessible, diverse, inclusive, and equitable medicine. With this in mind, UNE COM students and faculty, who attend 3+ events throughout the month, will be given a lapel pin as a symbol of their commitment to this initiative and their dedication to socially responsible healthcare.

40+ people attended the Social Determinants of Health Month Interprofessional Kickoff, representing students from COM, Social Work, and Physical Therapy, as well as leaders from the Center for Excellence in Collaborative Education.
