Congratulations to Tom Wickham, COM '20, UNE COM's Student Doctor of the Year winner!
According to the Student Government Association:
Thomas has exemplified what it means to be an osteopathic medical student through leadership, compassionate support, and scholarship. Thomas has held many leadership roles starting well before medical school including Public Health Community Service Committee Chair at Northeastern University. Starting his first year of medical school Thomas served as the Vice President of American Medical Student Association. Further into his medical education he found a new passion of advocating for osteopathic medical students. This is evident by his involvement in Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents and Student Government Association, not only as the President but the Chair of the Community Service Committee and Technology Committee. Although his tenure as Student Government President had to come to an end, he continues to advocate for students. Thomas is the first osteopathic medical student to serve on the board of directors of the National Residency Matching Program.
Thomas continues to not only make UNE COM better but also the profession of osteopathic medicine. If you happen to see Thomas during his fourth year rotations, tell him what a great job he is doing!
