How did you become involved in AcE?

My time with Action for Education (AcE) started back in my undergraduate days at College of the Holy Cross. Mike Mastroianni, the founder and President of AcE, was a classmate and is a good friend of mine. We were both part of a club on campus that frequently hosted medical mission trips to Honduras. Unfortunately, going into our senior year, the organization that we had previously worked with dissolved. During this time, Mike had recently founded AcE as a company supporting education by building a school in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Upon hearing this news, Mike recognized the continued need for health care in the area and made the decision to expand AcE to include medical missions, along-side his established commitment to education in the region. My involvement in AcE continued with this expansion. Since then,

I have traveled to Honduras three times watching and contributing to AcE’s growth with every trip.

Tell me about your experience.

On this most recent trip, we traveled to San Pedro Sula and the surrounding towns of San Manuel, Honduras. Every day, we traveled to a new community to set up and operate a mobile health care clinic for the citizens. We usually rely on the help of local community leaders in churches, schools, and town halls. These venues usually serve as focal community hubs accessible to most in the town. Our clinic usually
