Are you working on a paper as well?

Yes. Since we had a shortened summer that was only 6-weeks long, it has definitely continued on through to second year, which has been a balance between school work and research but I have been able to manage it so far so we will see how this goes.

How much more research do you have?

I actually will go back this summer to continue researching for them. This is a more longitudinal study, and right now we only looked at the 3-month time point, but they scanned 4 more times after that so there is a little more data interpretation that needs to be done.

What is your hope for the next round of research this summer?

Potentially taking the 6-month time point and comparing that to the 3-month time point and seeing what changes within the group itself or across groups have been accomplished between the 3 and 6-month to see also functional changes and anatomical. Are the people who resolved the post-traumatic headaches changing in their brain structure even after they continued to be resolved. The people who have technically resolved their persistent headache between the 3 and 6-month, are they also changing more like the resolved group at that time point?

Anything else you wanted to say about your experience or research?

I just think research in general is how medicine is innovative and we come up with either new ways to treat patients or new diagnostics to help diagnose illness earlier. It’s not for everyone but for those people who are willing to, I think it is very encouraging.
