UNE COM ALUMNI RECOGNIZED AT THE MOA ANNUAL COVENTION

Two UNE COM Alumni were recently recognized at the MOA Annual Meeting held at the Samoset Resort in Rockland, Maine. John L. Lowery, DO, PhD, ’10 was awarded the MOA Young Physician of the Year. This award is given to a DO who has been in practice at least one, but not more than five years and has demonstrated the potential to become a major force in Osteopathic Medicine.

The second award was given to Christopher Pezzullo, DO ’93. He received the Roswell P. Bates DO Public Service Award. This award is given for outstanding achievement in public health, political or community service that enhances and demonstrates the Osteopathic Profession’s commitment to service above and beyond that of direct patient care.

Lastly, two individuals were recognized for their contribution to the osteopathic profession in Maine. The MOA Board Award was renamed the Sandra Featherman, PhD, Osteopathic Champion Award in recognition of the service given by former UNE President Sandra Featherman, locally, regionally and nationally. The recipient of this renamed award was former Institutional Advancement Officer, Ronald Drouin. Mr. Drouin was honored for recent outstanding and significant contributions to the Osteopathic profession in Maine. Congratulations to all on these recognitions.
