Embracing the Shift: How Technology and Youth Shape Our Changing World
Naz DADA ‣
As Heraclitus said,“ The only constant in life is change.” When we compare the trends, fashion, forms of communication, and many other aspects we try to keep up with today to the past, we can clearly see how significant this change is.
First, let us examine the concept of change. Change is the transformation of a situation, thought, process, or feeling into something different from before. It is not a concept that can simply be divided into positive and negative aspects, because there are other factors that influence change besides the environment, such as perspective and values. As we know today, the effects of technology continue to exist in every area of our lives, shaping our communication styles, culture, and much more, and cause us to change day by day.
When we look at the aspects that make our lives easier, technology allows us to access information much more quickly, suppress feelings such as longing, and meet new people to build friendships. On the other hand, it can lead to cultural loss, imitation, and a loss of self-love in our society. As we know, the foundation of a state is education, and in recent years, this too has changed with shifts in social perception and technology. Today, projects, courses, and similar opportunities make learning more flexible compared to the past, while still emphasizing the importance of maintaining a sense of responsibility.
I should also mention that we, as young people, play a very important role in change. This is because we do not merely witness these changes; we grow up with them. In my opinion, CommitTED is a very good example of this. In short, we should not be afraid of change and transformation; instead, we should adapt by bringing together different perspectives and exchanging ideas.
