Transformation
Çınar DERİN ‣
When people around us hear the word“ Transformation”, they usually think about big changes happening at once. But this is usually a slow process, that happens over time and shapes how we act and see the world. For kids, however, change is something they experience almost every day, whether it’ s a new law, or a new game update.
One of the biggest transformations we are currently experiencing is technology. It has changed how we learn, react, socialize, or use our time. We students use online platforms, whether it’ s to play online games, or to do our homework. Technology has always had its advantages and disadvantages, such advantages that made us not go to libraries and made us successful in exams with only one click, or made us lazy and a couch potato with one click. It has transformed into a heaven of sorts, a heaven where we can learn, have fun, and socialize. changes challenge us to be more respectful and openminded toward different opinions and cultures.
Education has transformed as well, especially in recent years. School is no longer just about memorizing information. We are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and work together. These skills are important for our future, even if the process is sometimes stressful.
In the end, transformation is not just something happening around us, it is happening inside us too. As young people, we are learning, growing, and changing every day. By adapting to change and supporting one another, we become part of the transformation shaping our future.
As Colin Nilson once said:“ Once a butterfly has spread its wings, it never goes back to being a caterpillar.”
While we are talking about socialising, social media has also changed how we can express ourselves. We went from only sending emails, Google +, or MySpace, to platforms more like Facebook, where you could send messages, images, and make new friends instead of talking to people that you’ ve already known for years. However, it can be addictive to some people. They can also get into“ follower races” of some sort, like who will be the most popular. This shows us that transformation always has its good and bad sides.
Society is changing in other ways too. Topics like mental health, equality are talked about more openly than before. This makes us feel understood and accepted. These
