The Invisible Face of Change

İdil Duru ŞAHİN ‣
Transformation is often described as immediate and visible events, but from my perspective, transformation is something that happens slowly and without us realizing it. Change is life itself, something that arises from a desire to adapt and improve ourselves. The world is changing, and this change is present everywhere in our lives: in our culture, in our daily lives, and even in the way we eat and speak. Usually, transformation sounds like a good thing for our lives, and technology is one of the most obvious examples and the main reason for it. For example, technology lets us interact with each other easily, and it also helps us access information easily and assists in fields such as medicine, for instance by helping to find treatments for diseases.
Artificial intelligence and robots are another example, and when we look back at the past, we can see how much we have changed. But the problem is that we are too focused on improving ourselves that we don’ t even realize the effects of this change. With technology and phones, websites, social media, and many other things are everywhere in our lives, and unfortunately, they affect our lives directly. We’ re losing our manners and our cultures. Maybe our culture seems like something minor, but it is one of the things that keep us together. than necessary. People are being robotized and forced not to think or question.
If we compare the way we access education with the past, we can see that it is no longer difficult. However, even though it is much easier to access education today, there are still problems we cannot avoid. We are no longer just learning positive sciences but are being forced to prepare for exams and to work. We are being taught not to question anything. We are expected to obey.
Change is a good thing, but only if we do not use it for our own self-interest, because we are living together and change is unavoidable for us. As Heraclitus famously said,“ The only constant in life is change.”
Even the way we eat has changed, as we try to live like others. We all turn into identical working robots. We’ re changing so fast, and with this rapid change, the world is becoming crueller and more self-serving. There is no peace between countries, and the world is being greedily exploited. There is too much pressure on workers, more
