Transformation in the Modern World
Balım KAĞNICI ‣
Transformation is everywhere. Everything we experience in life is part of a transformation. For example, our growth and change as we get older is a form of transformation. The way our habits change over time is another example. Transformation can occur both physically and in terms of perspective.
If we consider transformation in education, we can compare the past with today. In the past, people spent a great deal of time searching through encyclopaedias to access information. Today, we can easily find information through the internet or artificial intelligence. At the same time, the roles of teachers and students have changed significantly. In the past, teachers played an active role while students were more passive and mainly listened to lessons. Today, students are more active. For example, when learning a topic, students are often expected to conduct their own research first, and this process is supported by interactive projects.
Although these developments have improved education, they have also created some negative consequences. With advancing technology, artificial intelligence is now widely used in education. While this makes access to information easier, it may lead students to assume that all information provided by AI is correct, which can result in misunderstandings. Similarly, if students use AI to complete entire assignments instead of using it as a support tool, they may fail to gain real knowledge, which can negatively affect their learning.
With social change and development, interaction between people has become easier and stronger. One of the biggest transformations in recent years has been the role of technology in our daily lives. Technology has changed the way we learn, communicate, and express our ideas. When used correctly, transformation can improve society and strengthen communication, but misuse can lead to negative outcomes.
