The Transformation of Education in Recent Years

Education has undergone a significant transformation in recent years due to rapid technological, social, and pedagogical changes. One of the most noticeable shifts is the integration of digital technologies into learning environments. Online platforms, virtual classrooms, and learning management systems have made education more flexible and accessible, allowing students to learn anytime and anywhere. This change became especially prominent during the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated the adoption of distance.
Curriculum changes in the Turkish education system in recent years have brought about a major transformation in teaching methods. The Ministry of National Education aims not only for students to learn based on knowledge, but also to develop skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
The biggest change implemented in the 2023-2024 academic year was raising the passing score for Turkish language courses in middle school to 70.
I believe the global pandemic has caused school-aged children to spend more time on computers and phones, gradually isolating themselves from the outside world and leading to screen addiction.
