Multiverse

Naz HASTÜRK

As someone who loves learning about the universe and theories related to it, one of my favorite theories is the multiverse theory. This theory suggests that our universe is not the only one and that many universes exist parallel to each other. These distinct universes within the multiverse theory are called parallel universes. A variety of different theories lend themselves to a multiverse viewpoint. Many studies have been conducted to prove it; however, no statistically significant evidence has been found.

Recently, the James Webb Space Telescope, which boasts innovative features, discovered a massive structure that appears to be older than the universe itself. This discovery could support the multiverse theory. The telescope utilizes advanced technologies, including state-of-the-art optics and thermal control systems. It features a five-layer sunshield, the size of a tennis court, which reduces heat from the Sun by more than a million times. The telescope’ s four instruments— cameras and spectrometers— have detectors capable of recording extremely faint signals.
If we can develop innovations capable of proving a theory that could reshape our understanding of the universe, who knows what the future holds? Perhaps one day, we could even build a spacecraft capable of traveling to other universes— if the multiverse theory proves to be true.
Given how far we have come with today’ s innovations, I believe that in the future, we will uncover even more about space and the universe. Who knows? We might even discover new life forms— or perhaps even friends— from other universes.
