Should the Living Rest
Feraye KOÇYİĞİT
The epoch fades, leaving shadows behind, The future lies far beyond our mind. Letters we sent, from time to time, Will be forgotten without any grime.
The ages race with time, Yet we aren’ t committing any crime. The open door with countless glares, It deserves my most bitter tears.

The breezy alleys where people live, Will be the city’ s new gravesite. Outlook is bright, technology thrives, God bless the alluring light.
The vines that strangle us, Has it become a must? The response is left for thus, Whose perception is covered by dust.
This major incident caused by us, That is not our fault to blame. What’ s lacking most today is trust, Oh, what a prosperous shame!
The pain you feel so heavy in your chest, That lingers to tear you apart, Should the living rest, Still with a blood pumping heart?
This endless cycle to improve, People come and go, waste and move. We’ ll realize that we aren’ t in a maze, Just because we passed the same tree twice.
