Everything started with the invention of the telephone. We use it in our daily lives all the time. But do we really know when and how the telephone was invented? And why do we spend so much of our day using it?

In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell invented the first telephone at the age of 31. That’ s remarkable, considering how young he was to create such an important invention. Inventors at the time were trying to improve the telegraph system, and eventually, this led to the creation of the telephone. Bell and his assistant were working on this idea as well. In February 1876, he patented his invention, and shortly after, his efforts paid off. He made the first-ever phone call to his assistant, Thomas Watson, saying,“ Mr. Watson, please come here. I want to see you.” This marked the beginning of telephone communication.
But why do we use phones so much in our lives? It’ s not just about keeping in touch with others. Phones help us stay socially connected, entertain us when we’ re bored, and provide easy access to movies, books, and more. Over the past decade, social media has become as essential as water, and apps like WhatsApp feel as necessary as food. However, excessive phone use can be harmful to both our mental and physical health. So, how can we reduce screen time? One solution is to take up new hobbies, such as playing the piano or doing sports. In reality, cutting down on phone use is easier than it seems— as long as you truly want to.
In conclusion, the invention of the telephone was a groundbreaking moment in history. While it has transformed the way we live and communicate, it also poses risks when not used in moderation. A new way of life began with this incredible invention, and how we use it is up to us.
