Sabiha Gökçen ’ s life is absolutely inspiring . She was born in Bursa in 1913 , when she was young , she faced an early tragedy by losing her parents . However , her future took a surprise turn for the better when Atatürk , the father of the Turks , adopted her giving her not just a new home but also a new name , ‘ Gökçen ’ which means the lady , the queen of the sky . She proved that girls can do anything with the help of Atatürk , so when you educate a girl or when you are a role model for her , you educate her family , her community , her society and our world at large . That is exactly what Atatürk did for her .
In Ankara , Sabiha ventured into a rare field for women at the time which is flying planes . She not only learned to fly , but she also became a symbol of possibility , showing that women can chase and achieve big dreams as well .
I really admire her a lot . She is the woman I look up to . When it comes to her life story , it shows us how to be brave and how to have confidence in yourself . Every time I think about her , I am reminded that we can achieve our dreams if we set our minds to it . She did something very special and challenging . She became the world ’ s first female fighter pilot at that time when not many women did things like that .
Sabiha Gökçen didn ’ t just dream ; she worked hard and proved that she could do what she wanted . Her courage extended beyond flying planes . It was also about breaking rules and showing that women can do anything they decide to . When I look at what she achieved , it gives me courage to try new things and believe in myself . Her story teaches us that no goal is too big and no dream is too far away , as long as we keep trying and never give up .
