Dangerously Yours
Elif Neda YILMAZ
Have you ever fallen in love with a movie ? I did . Scrolling through social media , I came across a video about the movie ‘ Dangerously Yours ’. Watching the characters discuss their love was a tender moment that stuck with me , motivating me to research more works of art that convey strong feelings such as love .
Finding out about Dangerously Yours was only a coincidence , but it changed the way I look at art and feelings and it really inspired me to use my own feelings to express myself in different forms of art .
In the social media post , two characters were discussing their relationship while a piano tune played in the back . I was always interested in romance , but watching Victor , in Dangerously Yours , using a really touching language to describe his love left a mark in me . I kept thinking about it as I scrolled further , and finally decided to watch it on my own . I loved how the actors could convey strong feelings , such as love , so successfully through acting .
Looking for similar themed media , I found that this was a common theme in different art forms too . With this stuck in my mind , I questioned if I could do the same and convey my feelings through art . As painting was already a hobby of mine , I was inspired by Dangerously Yours and decided to try it myself .
Conveying my feelings through my art made me realize that love wasn ’ t as simple as it looked . This taught me that there are a lot of different ways of loving someone . Applying what I learned , I improved my painting skills and used it as a medium to express myself and understand myself better . I even took up poem writing which helped me pour all my feelings and thoughts onto paper .
